Tourism Business Council of South Africa - Perceptions Survey  

This example proves our ability to conduct large scale perception surveys.

ProServ South Africa was contracted by TBCSA to conduct a perception survey, the purpose of which was:

  • To gauge perceptions of the TBCSA amongst members, levy collectors and partner institutions and organisations
  • To solicit input from all stakeholders regarding the information and communication requirements from the organisation

The objective of the assignment was to have the outcome of the survey inform the focus areas and / or approach taken by the organisation.

National Department of Tourism - Strategy towards the professionalisation of the tourist guiding sector and consider necessary amendments to the Tourism Second Amendment Act and Regulations

This example proves our ability to development of Strategy

The process of developing the strategy included comprehensive, in-depth research on the current status of the tourist guiding sector in South Africa within the broader tourism industry.

The project included a critical analysis of the:

  • Current implementation of the Tourism Second Amendment Act, No: 70, 2000, the Tourist Guides Regulations, and the Code of Conduct and Ethics in respect of tourist guides;
  • Quality of current education, training and development for the sector;
  • Global trends in the tourist guiding sector and relevance to South African standards;
  • Registration of tourist guides and the effectiveness of a national database of tourist guides and
  • Structural/Institutional arrangements within the tourist guiding sector.

The gaps identified and best practices will inform:

  • The development of the strategy to professionalise tourist guiding and
  • The necessary amendments to the current tourism second amendment act regulations.

 

BankSeta

BANKSETA - Skills Audit and Gap Analysis of Critical Skills in the Banking Sector

This example emphasises ProServ South Africa's expertise in conducting large scale national surveys using our web-based data management application.

A detailed skills audit and gap analysis of critical skills was conducted within the banking sector on behalf of the BANKSETA. A total of 79,000 employees in the sector conducted a self-audit based on a job-specific competency profile. Reports were compiled and recommendations made, based on detailed data-analysis. Amplixs-technology was used for data management in this project.

W&RSETA - Conduct a Skills Audit

This example emphasises ProServ South Africa's understanding of the workings of the W&RSETA and the W&R Sector.

In 2009 ProServ South Africa Consulting conducted a Skills Audit for the W&RSETA and provided a detailed analysis and report on the training needs of the individual staff members.

This example shows our experience in conducting customer satisfaction research amongst a large group of stakeholders

ProServ South Africa was contracted in 2008 by the Thebe YaBophelo Medical Aid to conduct a census research study amongst its stakeholders with a mirror survey being conducted amongst its employees. The research project consisted of electronic surveys, distributed amongst 5,000 stakeholders, using AmplixsTM Technology, as well as on site intercepts interviews with a sample size of their stakeholders.

Productivity SA (National Productivity Institute)

This example shows our experience in conducting customer satisfaction research amongst a large group of stakeholders

In 2007 and 2008, ProServ South Africa was contracted by the National Productivity Institute to conduct a census research study amongst its stakeholders with a mirror survey being conducted amongst its employees. The research project consisted of electronic surveys, distributed amongst 6,000 stakeholders, using Amplixs TMTechnology.

 

UNISA

UNISA (Bureau of Market Research) - Diversity Workshops and Focus Groups

This example demonstrates our experience in facilitating and analysing diversity management through a focus group methodology

In 2009 ProServ South Africa was contracted by UNISA to facilitate various workshops around diversity, diversity management, change and transformation. The focus groups were a result of the outcome of a quantitative survey commissioned prior to the focus groups. The result of the focus groups provided detailed insight into the complexity of diversity and its challenges in addressing them in a large scale transformation process. The focus group discussions were also successful in making specific suggestions in terms of initiatives that management could undertake to manage diversity effectively at UNISA.

 

Grant Thornton

Grant Thornton - Impact Study Establishment Pricing During the Soccer World Cup

This example demonstrates our experience in conducting large scale impact studies.

The National Department of Tourism assigned Grant Thornton to conduct an impact study on the pricing schemes used by establishments during the Soccer World Cup 2010. Grant Thornton assigned ProServ South Africa to design and distribute the survey, which was answered by 15,800 establishments. AmplixsTM technology was utilised to gather and create reports in a time efficient manner.

 

Services Seta

Services SETA - Customer Satisfaction Research

This example shows our experience in conducting customer satisfaction researchamongst a large group of stakeholders.

In June 2006, the consulting division of ProServ South Africa was contracted by the Services SETA to conduct a census amongst its stakeholders with a mirror survey being conducted amongst its employees. The methodology allows for the identification of gaps between client needs and employee perceptions thereof. The research project consisted of exploratory research through focus groups andin-depth interviews, followed by an electronic survey amongst 10,000 stakeholders, using AmplixsTMsoftware.

 

 Transnet

Transnet

This example shows our experience in conducting a large-scale research project involving a variety of stakeholders

In June 2006, ProServ South Africa was subcontracted by the Bureau of Market Research (BMR) at UNISA to conduct the field research for a brand strategy for Transnet. ProServ South Africa facilitated a series of focus group sessions across South Africa, attended by customers of Transnet. Furthermore, it conducted in-depth interviews with senior managers of Transnet and its divisions. Based on the focus groups and interviews, ProServ South Africa designed a quantitative survey around the service and brand perception of Transnet and distributed this amongst a random sample of Transnet customers. ProServ South Africa also assisted the BMR in the data-analysis and report writing thereof.
